Nancy Feldner Lair, born on February 18th, 1943, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6th, 2023. After a courageous battle with cancer, she has found peace in the embrace of her Savior.
Nancy was born in Canton, Ohio, graduating from Caldwell High School in 1961. She graduated in 1964 from Bliss Business College in Columbus, Ohio. After moving with her husband to Athens, GA in 1970, she became a kindergarten parapro for the Clarke County School District, serving at Barnett Shoals Elementary School for 22 years. As a dedicated educator, she nurtured young minds and touched countless lives with her warmth and kindness.
Her proudest accomplishment in life was her family. A devoted wife of 60 years, Nancy's love of her family was always her top priority. Being a mother and grandmother was her most cherished role in her life. She found joy in the simple pleasures—reading, creating beautiful cross-stitch projects, and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Vivian Feldner, as well as her sister Judy Milligan. She is survived by her husband, Doug Lair; son, Ron (Beth) Lair, Kennesaw, GA; grandchildren, Allison and Will Lair; brother, Steve Feldner (Athens, GA) and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia on Thursday, October 12, 2023, between 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with a memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dr. Richard Walker officiating.
Her legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
