It is very sad to say farewell to our beloved Meng Chiem at the young age of 52 in Powder Springs, Georgia. Meng was suddenly taken away from us on August 16th, 2023. He was surrounded by family members when passing. He was loved by all.
He has lived in Georgia for 41 years. He came to America as a refugee with his family from Cambodia in 1981. Meng is survived by his parents Por Chiem (father) and Ky Cheng (mother). He is also survived by his siblings, Chu Chiem (sister), Hoa Chiem (brother), Hong Chiem (brother), and Pheng Chiem (brother). Meng is also survived by his two children, Alexis Chiem (daughter) and Andrew Chiem (son). Meng was married for 13 years and maintained a healthy relationship with his ex-wife (mother of his children) Judy Chang-Chiem in raising the children.
Meng was a hard worker, very dedicated, and strong. He has a good heart, always putting family and friends before himself. He was an amazing and loving son, brother, and friend. He loved his children very much and loved spending time together as a family. He was a very proud father. The most recent family activity we did together was moving his son Andrew into the Georgia Tech dorm. Meng really enjoyed seeing Andrew's dorm and even made fun of how small and cramped it was. Meng always had a funny sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. His children are his greatest achievement.
Meng's Visitation, Service, and Cremation will be held on Saturday August 19th, 2023, at 10am-2pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory.
We will miss Meng dearly, gone too soon, he will always be in our hearts. We love you so much!
R.I.P. Meng Chiem (Beloved Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend)
