Max Cannon, age 82, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Connection Point Church of God in Austell, GA with Bishop Keith Gunter officiating. Interment will follow on Monday, November 19th at Welcome Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cedar Bluff, Alabama.
Born in Hickory, NC, Mr. Cannon lived most of his life in Gadsden, AL. He graduated from Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY, and served as a Baptist Minister for the rest of his life. He was the former Pastor of Eastside Baptist Church in Edinburgh, IN, Golden Rod Avenue Baptist Church in Gadsden, AL, and was the senior outreach Chaplain for Bellevue Baptist Church at Northside Healthcare Nursing Home for 13 years. He was also a pilot, and served as Commander of the Etowah County Civil Air Patrol for Search and Rescue. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Todd Edward Cannon and Bobby Ray Coley.
