Matthew A Cannon

March 14, 1969 — September 5, 2023

Matthew Alan Cannon was born in Tocsin, Indiana and lived in Indiana until he moved to St. Mountain Georgia with his family in the late 1970’s. He graduated from St. Mountain High School in 1987 (he lettered in Soccer, Marching Band, Jazz Band) and then enlisted in the US Navy where he served during the First Gulf War. When he left the service, he attended Dekalb College where he earned his Associate’s Degree in Computer Science and then went on to Kennesaw State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science (Magna Cum Laude).
His parents are Keith L. Cannon- (deceased) and Gail Cannon and he had 5 brothers & sisters (Cindy, Keith, Beth, John, Cheri).
He was happily married to Angie Cannon for 27 years and had two children- Jamieson and Mackenzie who both attended Harrison High School and now attend KSU.
Matt loved the beach, soccer, any kind of music, team trivia, computers, college football, spending time with his family and friends, going out to dinner, watching Netflix, Ham radio, politics, a dirty martini, and summer pool days. He was super smart, witty, giving, and fun. He was always learning and teaching himself new things. He never met a stranger. He always put his family first and was a very hard worker. He was a good provider, husband and father. We will miss him dearly.
He most recently worked for the US Air Force at Dobbins Air Force Base. Prior to that he did IT Consulting and had worked for IBM for 15 years as a Project Executive.

His family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support we have received over the past few months.
