Chief Master Sergeant, USAF, Retired Clarence Cooley went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, April 27 at Eastwood Baptist Church, 1150 Allgood Road, Marietta with Pastor Justin Holcomb and Rev. Alan Kuykendall officiating. He will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment with full military honors will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
Born in Connersville, Indiana May 1,1937 the son of Scott and Lena Bess Reed Cooley. He was 76 years old. The seventh of seven children. Cooley, as he was known to most of his friends, lived in the local area since March 1958. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Connally Cooley. In addition to his service in the USAF, Cooley was on the staff at Dobbins AFB for many years. He enjoyed volunteering and attending Eastwood Baptist Church, where he taught Adult Bible Study for many years. He also loved to travel.
He is survived by daughter, Debbie Morrison (David), grandchildren, Brittney Harkins (Jeff) and Jennifer Simpson (Tim); Son, Mark Cooley (Debbie), grandchildren, Jessica Griffin (Jeffrey), Zach Long and four great-grandchildren, Aly and Logan Simpson, Austin and Reeyce Harkins, sister, Jean Moore and brother, Scott Cooley.
