Mason M. Tompkins, age 18, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017.
Mason was born April 8, 1999 in Atlanta to loving parents Wade and Renee. Always an active, happy, and loving boy, Mason’s life was full of fun and adventure from the beginning. He played sports early on, and excelled in Lacrosse and Football at Harrison High School, where he was a recent graduate. Smart and hardworking, Mason had committed to play football at Berry College in Rome, Georgia, this fall.
More than anything, Mason will be remembered for his playful attitude, gentle spirit, and bright smile, which drew people to him everywhere he went. He loved making people laugh and feel good, a trait cherished by his family and many friends. Mason was a devoted big brother to his sister Madelyn, who he loved and adored.
Mason is survived by parents Wade and Renee Tompkins, Acworth, GA; sister Madelyn Tompkins, Acworth, GA; paternal grandparents Kim L. and Nea M. Tompkins; and maternal Grandmother Diane Taughrin. Mason was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William P. Taughrin.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 12 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
