Mary Marie Thomas

Mrs. Mary Marie McFarland Thomas age 61 of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Mrs. Thomas was born on June 27, 1958 in Jasper, Georgia. She is the oldest daughter of the late Claude McFarland and Essie Mae Richards McFarland. Mrs. Thomas was a long-time employee of ATandT and Alcatel-Lucent Technologies before retiring in 2009. Recently, she worked as a receptionist at the Cobb County Adult Education Center.

Affectionately known as "Mae Mae" by her loved ones, she will forever be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 43 years Mark Thomas, three daughters: Montrine (Thomas) Johnson and her son-in-law Brian Johnson and grandsons: Jalen Johnson, Julian Johnson, Jonah Johnson, and Jacob Johnson; daughter Tonya Thomas and grandson: Christian Mark Reevey; daughter Tina Thomas and grandson: Brendan Mark Thomas; She is also survived by her loving sister, Martha J. Shepardson and brother-in-law Duane Shepardson and niece: Melissa Cantrell and her husband Donnie Cantrell; as well as a host of brother and sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Her beautiful life and loving memory will forever be cherished and she will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her. A memorial service will be held in the future when the time is appropriate.
