Mary Elizabeth Sams

Mary Elizabeth Sams, (Meme) 91, was born to Lucille Mills in Greer, South Carolina on April 12, 1925. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, July 16, 2016 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.
Mary moved to New York when she was a teenager. She was later employed at American Label Company where she worked for more than 50 years until she retired. During that time she was united in holy matrimony to Roy Henry Bennett who preceded her in death. To this union she bore two children, Roy Henry Bennett, Jr. who preceded her in death, and Barbara Marie Bennett. She later married Herman Sams who also preceded her in death.
Mary had studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. Through her study she learned about the resurrection hope which was real to her.
Mary was a loving caring person to everyone she met. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Barbara Marie McClendon (Leroy). Her grandchildren Evette, Michelle and Darrell. Her great-grandchildren Brian, David (who preceded her in death), Brandon, Derrick, Tekisha, Blair, Briana, Javon, TeNia, Lazavea, Devin, Tamia. Her great-great – grandchildren Jayden, Amiya, D.J., Taylor, Breylin and Malaysia. And a host of other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends Saturday, July 16, 2016, 11:00 am -1:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.
