It is with a sad heart that the family announces the death of Mary “Nana” Darleen Martin, Dallas, Georgia, age 78, formerly Darleen Davis of Cedartown. She passed from this life on October 14, 2021 due to health complications while a patient at WellStar Hospital in Dallas. She is preceded in death by her husband Almarine Martin and daughter, Cynthia Martin and brother Larry Davis of Cartersville. Her parents were the late Rev. Carl Davis and Mary Davis of Cedartown. She is survived by her son, Randall Martin, daughter-in-law Brandy and grandchildren Justin, Christopher and Haley, Cayne, Baily, Brooke and Jordyn and three great-grandchildren as well as a host of nephews and nieces. She is further survived by her sisters, Carolyn Newton (husband Richard), Marilyn Boren (husband Curtis) both of Dallas and Linda McEntyre (husband Tony) of Woodstock as well as her sister-in-law Bobbie Davis of Cartersville.
Ms. Martin was a former employee with Richway Inc., Haverty’s and Rich’s Department Stores, Shaw Carpet, Paulding County School System, and BG Ad Group.
She was a faithful member of Morning View Baptist Church where she was a choir member. She is remembered as a “Loving Nana” to her grandchildren. The service will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the West Cobb Chapel. Her interment will be at Georgia Memorial Cemetery following her Celebration of Life. Ms. Martin has selected pallbearers Cayne Martin, Justin Martin, Christopher Martin, Jeff Barnes, Brian Newton and Dennis McEntyre. Reverend Terry Elsner of Morning View Baptist Church will officiate.
