Mary Jim "Jimmie" Crider

April 8, 1929 — July 17, 2013

Mrs. Mary Jim “Jimmie” Crider, age 84, of Buchanan, GA passed away at home on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. She was the widow of Edd Crider, Jr. who died November 7, 1979.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Marietta. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12pm until 2pm.

Survivors include son, Wayne Crider and wife, Betsy of Fayetteville; daughters, Deborah Boylen and husband, Lynn of Buchanan, Cheryl Millwood of Powder Springs, Terry Priest of Marietta and Vickie Scoggins and husband, Ray of Lithia Springs; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Mt. Zion East Baptist Church. Mrs. Crider, or “Jimmie” as all family and friends called her, was proud to be a telephone operator. At the age of 18 she worked for Southern Bell for a few years and then for Rich’s downtown Atlanta for almost twenty years. She eventually retired from Buckhead Brokers in 1996.
