Mary Mack Howard, 83, of Powder Springs passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Sheridan officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Monte Vista Burial Park in Johnson City, TN with Deacon George Fredricks officiating.
A native of Bronx, NY, Mary moved to Asbury Park, NJ as a teen. She met her first husband, Don, at a USO dance and they married in 1948. They moved to McLean, VA where they raised their 3 children. In 1976, after Don retired they moved to Johnson City, TN. After Don passed away in 1992, Mary moved to the Atlanta area to be near her grandchildren. She met a wonderful man, Jack Howard, and they married in 2002. They loved to dance and travel and took many cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. Mrs. Howard retired from The Pentagon in Arlington, VA where she was employed as a Secretary.
Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her spouses: Donald Mack and Jack Howard.
She is survived by her children, Donald “Chip” J. (Louise) Mack Jr. of Raleigh, NC.; Andrew (Nancy) Mack of Buckhead, and Valerie Bseibess of Marietta, and grandchildren, Anthony Bseibess, Joey Bseibess and Jack Bseibess.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory from 6:00p.m. until 9:00p.m.
