Mary Virginia Gipson, 67, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital surrounded by family. Now, as the family mourns her passing, they also celebrate all that she was to them, her relatives, her friends and all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. at Dallas First United Methodist Church in Dallas, Georgia on Monday, March 4, 2024. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Blake Trent, will follow at 11 a.m.
Mary Virginia “Jen” was born in Cleveland, Mississippi on May 6, 1956. She was the daughter of Annie Beatrice McCool and James Martin Gipson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jen was a 1974 graduate of Cleveland High School and attended Mississippi Delta Community College. She was an accounts payables specialist for over 40 years.
An avid Tennessee Vols and Atlanta Braves fan, she loved going out to dinner at Red Lobster. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending her yard, riding on her John Deere lawn mower and listening to her wind chime collection. She adored her fur baby pups and was also active in her church, where she especially enjoyed volunteering with the River of Life ministry.
She is survived by her spouse, Becky Turman; sister Patricia Wood (Jim); nieces and nephews; Lawren Largue (Bret); Matthew Wood (Brinkley); Dawn Russell (James); Kelly Dunn; Andrew Dunn (Ashley); Lucy Largue; Rowen Largue; Royce Largue and Max Pearce.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Dallas First United Methodist Church Outreach and Missions Ministry.
