Mary Dell Fields, age 54, of Smyrna, GA, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 26, 2013, in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA with Pastor Barbara Hughes officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Mary was born in St. Petersburg Florida on July 21, 1959. The loving daughter of the late Clarence & Rosa K. Fields aka as Rosa Kate Harris-Cole.
Mary was the fifth oldest of twelve children, a loving and happy mother, and an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother. At the age of 19, Mary became an entrepreneur; she started and operated several successful businesses throughout her life.
She live a full and exciting life, meeting people and putting together events; no one was a stranger. She not only celebrated her life but the lives of others by writing letters, and sending cads and gifts on their special days. When she found Christ that same love, entrepreneurial and coordinating spirit was used for the up-building of God’s kingdom. She started “Mary’s Soup Ministry” preparing hearty soup meals to feed the hungry in the winter season, developing fund raising programs to support her ministry. As one of the mothers of Faith and Love Temple of God Inc., she was a faithful and hard working member, loving God and teaching others of His love for us.

• Four brothers and two sister-in-laws: Retired Sgt. Major Roosevelt McGarrah (Myung “Mimmie), St. Roberts MO., Kenneth McCoy, Joseph Fields, and Norman Harris (Rhonda) St. Petersburg, FL.,
• Six sisters & two brother-in-laws: Debra Gibson (Spencer), Acworth Ga., Joan Fields, Jane Fields (deceased), Jacqueline Bell (Leon), Las Vegas, NV., Claretha Fields, Rose Fields (Russ), and Susie Fields-Lacy, all of St. Petersburg, Fl.
• Two-surrogate sisters: Vonda Gordon, and Sandi Cash of St. Petersburg, Fl.
• Eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
