Mary Emma Cordell

Mary Emma Cordell, age 84, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away May 14, 2021. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at New Life Baptist Church in Dallas with Bro. Percy Rymer and Bro. Vermon Parmer officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband Cleve H. (Buddy) Cordell, her parents, Paul and Marjorie Rymer, brother Calvin and sister Hilda.

Mary was a native of Cleveland, TN, living the last 60 years in Powder Springs, Georgia. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Dallas, GA. Mary was a homemaker and loved traveling with her husband, Buddy in their 18-wheeler. Some of her hobbies include gardening, cooking, camping and being around her family whom she loved dearly and took care of. She loved all the many gifts and trinkets that were given to her.

Survivors include: four children: Larry (Tina) Cordell of Marietta, GA, Phyllis Jones of Hayesville, NC, Cheryl (Jeff) Woody of Powder Springs, GA and Renee (Jay) Ellis of Douglasville, GA; sister: Stella Foster of Cleveland, TN; four brothers: Percy Rymer of Cleveland, TN, Dale Rymer of Cleveland, TN, R.L. Rymer of Varnell, GA and Billy Rymer of Cleveland, TN; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.
