Mary “Frances” Armstrong, 91, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away peacefully August 13, 2024, in Acworth, GA.
Frances Armstrong was born January 28, 1933, in Powder Springs, GA, to Minnie Mitchell Jarmon and Oscar Robert Jarmon.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Cliff William “Bill” Armstrong, her daughter, Tina Marie Armstrong, her sisters, Mavis Davis, Evelyn Moon, Irene Cowart and brother, Hubert Jarmon.
She is survived by two daughters, Angela Little (Johnny) of Powder Springs, GA and Kim Ryals (Ron) of Odenville, AL and by three grandchildren T.J. Little, Chase Ryals (Savannah) and Colton Ryals all of whom she adored; along with three great grandchildren, Story Little, Koa Little and Reagan Ryals.
Frances graduated from John McEachern High School in 1950, worked for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution from 1952-1962 and then “retired”, as she would say, to become a homemaker. She loved working in her flower garden, playing the piano and was a superbly talented realist artist.
She was a member of Macland Baptist Church in Powder Springs, GA. She was always active in her local church, sang in the choir and was a church pianist for over 20 years. She loved the Lord with all her heart and will be missed severely on this earth.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday August 18, 2024, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Cemetery in Powder Springs, Georgia.
The family will receive friends on Sunday August 18, 2024, from 1 PM until 2 PM at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
