Martin Frank Finfrock

November 8, 1929 — May 31, 2019

Martin Frank Finfrock went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 31, 2019. A man of deep, abiding faith, Frank came to know Jesus later in life, and from that moment, he used his time and talents to help point others to his Savior. Born to Howard Frank and Dorothy Rhodes Finfrock on November 8, 1929 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Frank graduated from Purdue University in 1951. While attending Purdue, he met and then married Mary Alice Winchester, and together they began an incredible life journey. He followed in his father's footsteps and began working for Cities Service Oil Company upon graduation. Heeding the call of his country, Frank served as a United States Marine during the Korean War. After the War, Frank returned to Cities Service, where he had a 30-year career, moving from the oil and gas division to the petrochemical division. The highlight of his career was serving as Vice President and General Manager of Cities Service's Copperhill Tennessee operation.

In 1982, Frank and Mary Alice retired and moved to Boca Raton, Florida, to help care for her mother, and they lived there for 35 years. For the last 37 years of his life, as an outworking of his passion and commitment to see God's Kingdom spread throughout the world, Frank helped with Mission to the World, serving on the Board of Directors and traveling internationally to work with various mission teams. His greatest legacy, however, rests in the three generations of his family which have now come to know Jesus as Savior.

Frank is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Mary Alice, and his children – Laura Chambers of Beaumont, Texas; Frank (and Rhonda) Finfrock of Memphis, Tennessee; Becky (and Marty) Godfrey of Powder Springs, Georgia. His deep legacy of love is carried within 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Grandchildren include – Jon (and Candice) Chambers of College Station, Texas; Andrew Chambers of Austin, Texas; Marc (and Lauren) Chambers of Houston, Texas; Joshua (and Michele) Finfrock of Anaheim, California; Sarah (and Zack) Brumfield of Memphis, Tennessee; David (and Jessica) Finfrock of Memphis, Tennessee; Matthew (and Laura) Godfrey of Woodstock, Georgia; Christopher Godfrey of Atlanta, Georgia; and, Stephanie Godfrey of Atlanta, Georgia. He is preceded in death by infant daughter, Marcia Lynne.

A celebration of life in Jesus will be held for Frank on Monday, June 3, 2019, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory at 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA 30064, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be on the same day from noon until 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
