Martha Louise Shoemaker Hamrick, age 92, of Marietta, Georgia passed away from natural causes on Monday, August 23, 2021.
Born in Virginia, Mrs. Hamrick was a partner in ministry for over 65 years with her husband, the late Rev. John C. Hamrick. Among other churches, together, they ministered at the First Baptist Church in Kennesaw, Jackson Hill Baptist Church in Atlanta, Bethel Baptist Church in Smyrna, and later engaged in itinerate ministry from their home church, Powder Springs Fellowship where they were members for over 35 years. During that time, Martha never ceased to cook, clean, and see to the comfort of visiting ministers and missionaries. No one left her house hungry or lacking in anything that Martha had the power to provide.
Martha was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She raised three boys who all became professionals in their chosen career fields.
In addition to the passing of her beloved husband, she also lost her middle son, David Hart Hamrick, in 2002, and her grandson, Patrick Anthony Hamrick, on Christmas day in 2016.
Survivors include: 2 Sons, John M. Hamrick of LaGrange, GA, Stephen A. Hamrick of Marietta, GA; 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
Because we care about the lives of our friends and family, the public memorial service has been postponed until a later date. The family is invited to join us on Sunday, August 29th for a private, graveside remembrance.
