Martha J. Florence, age 95, of Marietta, GA passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Scott Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
A native of Bostwick, GA, Mrs. Florence moved to Marietta in 1951. She worked for the Veteran’s Administration in Atlanta for over 30 years before retirement, and was a member of the United Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Florence, Sr., her sister, Nellie Peeples, her brother, Tom Jackson and her grandson, Dale Bailey.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Anne Sturdivant, Powder Springs, GA
Son: William Florence, Jr., Marietta, GA
Grandchildren: Christopher Bailey and wife Tina, Rev. Scott Bailey and wife Laura, and Shawn Jesse Bailey and wife Wendy.
Great Grandchildren: Savannah Bailey, Andrew Bailey, Christopher Bailey and Kaitlyn Bailey and many other relatives and friends.
