It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Heneley Gibson, born on November 15, 1968. Mark's earthly journey leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Mark is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Gibson; his paternal grandparents Roy and Clara Gibson, as well as his maternal grandparents Euthel and Dorothy Ferguson who all had a significant influence on his early life. A devout Christian, he was a cherished member of the One Baptist Church community, where he lived his faith through actions, embodying the love and grace taught by Christ.
Mark's heart knew no bounds when it came to kindness. He was the embodiment of selflessness, often going out of his way to assist anyone in need, even strangers, as much as he was able. His upbringing instilled in him a sense of responsibility, especially towards his younger brothers, Elliot and Jon. As a father figure, Mark was their guardian, provider, and protector, demonstrating an unparalleled dedication to family.
1988 marked a pivotal year for Mark; it was the year his beloved daughter, Crystal, was born. His pride in her knew no limits. Understanding the importance of providing the best for her, he made a selfless decision for her adoption by her grandparents, Marty and Edith Mosley. This act of love did not diminish his presence in Crystal's life; rather, it strengthened their bond as he remained an active and devoted father throughout her life.
Mark's joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Vera, Leo, and Joie. His love for them was immense, and he cherished every moment spent with these precious lives, instilling in them the values of love, faith, and family.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Chyrl Gibson; his brothers, Scott Gibson (Deborah), Elliot Gibson (Christy), and Jon Gibson (Nelly); his daughter, Crystal Kukucka (Josip); his grandchildren, Vera, Leonardo, and Joie Kukucka; his niece, Giulianna Gibson; his nephews, Gianni Gibson and Patrick Phillips; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, church family, and friends who were touched by his love and spirit.
Mark's life was a testament to the power of faith, the importance of family, and the impact of kindness. As we celebrate his life, we also honor his legacy, which will continue to inspire those who know him. We take solace in knowing that Mark is now at peace, reunited with his father and grandparents in the presence of our Lord.
A viewing and memorial service will be held at West Cobb Funeral Home, where family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Mark are welcome to share in celebrating his remarkable life and legacy.
Mark Heneley Gibson's memory will forever be cherished, and he will be dearly missed. May he now be at peace.
