Marilyn Martin

Marilyn Sue Martin, age 78, of Mableton, Georgia passed away November 6, 2022. A Private Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 21, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia with Rev. Keith Collins officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Brown Martin, Sr., parents; Robert Earl Waldrop and Clara Opal (Armstrong) Waldrop, and one brother, Glenn Allen Waldrop.
Marilyn was a native of Calloway County, Kentucky and lived in Mableton, Georgia for many years. She loved reading, knitting, watching the Game Show Network and especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include: two daughters: Marilyn (Allen) Newsome of Mableton, GA and Martha (Scott Hammond) Martin of Houston, TX; a son: Charles (Venicia) Martin, Jr. of Henagar, AL; two brothers: Elton (Lutrell) Waldrop of Charleston, SC and Nelson (Marlene) Waldrop of Murray, KY; one grandson: Jeremy Leon Martin of Henager, AL; three step grandsons Daniel (Ashley) Smalley, Henagar, AL, Bradley Smalley, Las Vegas, NV and Tristan Hammond, Paris Island, SC; as well as several step great grandchildren.
The family has requested a private viewing on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 10:30 am until 11:00 am at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Hospital. Interment will be later in 2023 at South Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Calloway County, Kentucky.
