Marie E Bakkegard

On Wednesday, September 28th, Marie Elizabeth Bakkegard (Lich) of Dallas, GA, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away. She was 74 years old. She was predeceased in death by her parents Robert Wilhelm Lich and Mildred Dorothy Lich (Speakman). She was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 22nd, 1947. She grew up traveling the country and the world as the daughter of an Airforce serviceman. She joined the Marines before marrying and raising a family in Montana and later, Oregon where she spent many years providing social services for the State of Oregon. Upon retiring, she moved to Florida to be close to her granddaughters. She loved history, reading, animals, horseback riding, pugs, chocolate, hiking, travel, cultures and most especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her brother John Lich and his wife Dorothy Lich; daughters Annette Marie Thorson and Michelle Teresa Abel (Thorson) and her husband John Abel; grandchildren, André Stephan Wyatt and his wife Leanna Holly Robb, Mariah Mercedes Wyatt and her fiancé Brandon Baez, Bailey Rane Abel and Megan Skye Abel.
Memorial donations may be made to the Paulding Humane Society or Marion County Humane Society. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
