Maria was a native of Atlixico Puebla, Mexico and has spent the past 30 years in the Atlanta, GA area. She was a member of The Light of the World Church in Marietta, GA. She was a member of Fundacion Eva and Fundacion Alma de Mujer.
Survivors include: husband of 30 years: Martin Ortiz of Powder Springs, GA, daughter: Sarahi Ortiz of Smyrna, GA; son: Omar Martin Ortiz of Powder Springs, GA; parents: Porfirio and Mafalda Rodriguez; two grandchildren: Josiah and Azelayah Rangel; one sister: Guadalupe Rodriguez de Ortiz of Smyrna, GA; two brothers: Anselmo Rodriguez and Jose R. Rodriguez both of Austell, GA.
