A Soldier’s Story
Marcus Anthony Hurtado Jr. 22, was born on June 7, 1995 in Dallas, Georgia. Marcus Hurtado Jr. transitioned on July 5, 2017 in Seattle, Washington. As a young man Marcus dreamed of serving his country and on June 16, 2012 he graduated from the Georgia National Guard Youth Academy and subsequently enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 5, 2014. Marcus served our country as an E3 Private First Class and later worked as a Driver for Amazon Seattle. Marcus loved swimming, music, and gymnastics. He also had a passion for animals and the elderly. He will be richly remembered for his politeness and quirky sense of humor (Wubba Lubba Dub Dub). Marcus is survived by his spouse Darnel Hurtado. His mother Alisa L. McCullough-Hurtado, his father Marcus Anthony Hurtado Sr., his sister Hali A. Ngobili, his brother Andre L. Armster Jr., his brother Nicolas C. Hurtado, his grandfather Alfonso Hurtado and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, his two baby nieces, and friends. He is predeceased by his aunt Sharon N. McCullough and his two loving grandmothers Adolfina Hurtado and Lillie Mae McCullough.
