Marcie Wanjiku Murago

Marcie Wanjiku Gachambi Murago, age 67 of Kennesaw GA, passed away on Friday May 6th 2022 in the hospital, surrounded by her 3 children. Visitation for friends and extended family will take place on Tuesday May 17th 2022 at 11AM at West Cobb Funeral Home, followed by the Funeral Service at 12PM, and interment at Kennesaw Memorial Park , Marietta, GA.

Marcie was born of the late Elizabeth Nyambura and James Murago in Murang'a, Kenya on December 14, 1954. She was the 4th born of 11 children. In 2007 she relocated to Atlanta GA with her son (James) and daughter (Angela) to join her eldest daughter (Elizabeth) who lives in Atlanta. She supported all her kids through college.

In March 2021, she got ill and after bravely fighting her illness, she went to be with the Lord.

She was known for her infinite love of family. She was an advocate of good health, nutrition, taught her family healthy cooking and passed on many recipes that will be cherished. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren who always cheered her up. She loved taking daily long walks. We will miss her gracious spirit, comforting nature and always wanting to provide the best for her family.

Survivors include her children Elizabeth (Eric) Muchiri (Woodstock, GA), James Huma (Atlanta, GA) and Angela Mukuhi (Atlanta, GA). Her grandchildren are Nicole Muchiri and Victoria Muchiri.

Her sisters and brothers include : the late Peter Mwangi Murago, Grace Wanjiru Mwangi (Philadelphia, PA), Jane Murago-Munene (Kenya), Robert Kariuki Murago (Kenya), the late David Gakobo Murago, George Wachira Murago (Kenya), Ann Muthoni Njuguna (Kenya), Susan Njoki Murago (Kenya) and Lucy Kabura Murago (Kenya).
