Madge LaVern Burgess

Madge LaVern Burgess of Marietta, Ga. went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our love ones on January 19, 2025. She lived a blessed life of 88yrs. 

She was born in Villa Rica, Ga. to Cora Grace and John Herman Williams, September 21,1936. 

She later resided in Atlanta and attended Okeefe High School, 1953-54 many fond memories, where she was surprised and honored by her classmates being chosen “Most Attractive.”

Madge then began working for Simmons Company, where she met her love for life, she leaves behind Jack Lamar Burgess, married 68 wonderful years. Blessed with two children, Timothy Lamar Burgess (deceased) and daughter Dedra Kay Sewell ( Scott ) two amazing grandsons, Blake King Sewell and Timothy Kole Sewell, beloved sister Melba Council, with many precious nieces, nephew’s and great nieces, nephew’s, Williams and Burgess loving family. 

Madge was beautiful inside and out. Her smile would light up a room and the best southern cook. Her greatest love and joy were her family and friends, leaving a legacy of grace, love and care with her heart of gold. God knows her little lesson taught, always follow the path of the Lord then listen to your heart. “Well done my good and faithful servant.” 

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave you.
