Lya T McGivney

Lya McGivney, age 99, of Marietta, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2022. Lya was born in Bremen, Germany. Lya earned an associate degree in business while also learning English. She moved to New York after WW2 working at The Pure Food Company. Where Lya met and married the love of her life. She was a long-time employee of Publix as well.

She is preceded in death, by her parents, siblings, and beloved husband Harry McGivney.

Lya is survived by 2 daughters Lynn Ross (Craig Ross), and Leslie McGivney; grandchildren Danielle McGivney (Josh) and Chris Ross; great-grandson Luke Ross; dog Sidney.

She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Marietta First United Methodist Church, 56 Whitlock Ave. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10 am.
