Lucille Weeks, age 72, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away April 29, 2018. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta.
Lucille was born on January 27, 1946 in the Bronx, New York to David and Dorothy Lee (Johnson) Graves.
Lucille spent her teenagers year in the Melrose houses where she had a multitude of friends. Being extremely popular she was definitely the center of the in crowd. She attended Walton High where she focused her studies on pursuing a career in the Medical field. She achieved an Associates Degree in Medical Coding and worked at Bronx Lebanon Hospital for many years as a Medical Records Technician. After furthering her education and receiving certificates in early childhood education she moved to Georgia and worked as a Teacher for many more years before retiring. She was a great seamstress and was known for her famous potato salad.
She was a hard worker and gave unconditionally to all. We called her Mother because she was a Mother to everyone, not just her children. Always there with advice, a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on, and the kindest of words, all while being a stead fast soldier ready to take up arms in battle to defend those she loved.
Lucille Weeks, age 72, of Powder Springs, Georgia went to be with the Lord after a long struggle with cancer on April 29, 2018.
Lucille leaves to cherish her precious memory: Children: Robert (Wife Linda), Desiree (Husband Linwood), and Keisha, Grandchildren: Shikirra, Robert III, Chanel, Ashanti, Ashley, Dakota, Jhane, Madison, Elijah, and Joshua Great Grandchildren: Kimora and Kardier Siblings: David, Douglas (Wife Alice), Michelle, and Cheryl; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and other caring relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 4, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
