Lucille Snyder Turner

A precious and gentle soul, our Mother, Lucille Snyder Turner, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. A kind and stately woman, loved and highly favored by all who knew her. She was a peacemaker in her every endeavor.

She was raised in the mountains of western Carolina where she met her one true love, Ben Turner, who brought her to Georgia where they married and raised their family, Snyder (Marsha) Turner, Janet (Randy) Bailey, and Benita (Tom) Willis.

She was totally dedicated in supporting Ben's ministries as Pastor of several churches and the ministry of her heart, Calvary Children's Home which was founded while he pastored Calvary Baptist Church in Smyrna, Georgia. She was a faithful employee of the Children's Home until she was 96! Her smile, her voice, her friendship with everyone who passed through the doors at Calvary will remain in the hearts of the staff, children and all those who supported this ministry in its 58 years and continuing.

She loved her family and taught them by example that having the Lord as their Savior, living for Him, and trusting Him all along life's journey was the only real source of joy and contentment in this life.

She was blessed with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who all "rise up and call her blessed." Her life touched many and her testimony will remain in all our hearts until we meet again.

Her service will be at 2pm on Friday, February 14th at West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA 30064, with visitation from 12pm until 2pm. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
