Lucille Katherine Brown Ostrom, age 89, beloved mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord Jesus on May 15th 2023. She was residing at Sterling Estates memory care in Marietta, Georgia. She was born in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to Bendiks and Edith Day Brown. She graduated from Milltown High School in 1953.
Lucille grew up on a dairy farm in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin along with her three brothers. Life on the farm was hard work and although she left the farm in 1955, she maintained that strong work ethic and humble beginnings. She married and later had two children. She lived and moved to many states but no matter the state she made “that house our home.” She was an amazing cook! We loved her fried chicken, roasts, canned preserves, Swedish pancakes, and homemade pies. She was a gifted seamstress. She sewed for herself, her daughter, new curtains to new houses, and family, including ties for her husband. Being raised on the farm she knew how to plant her vegetable gardens wherever we lived. She was an excellent woman of God, mother, and grandmother. All of whom she loved with her whole heart. She was the foundation and steady rock of our family. We will dearly miss her.
She is survived by her two children, Kenny and Kathy. Kenny and his wife Lisa, have two children, Brittnye Ostrom and Brent Ostrom. Kathy and her husband, Bob, have three children, Rebecca and Adam Bryan, James Flowers and his fiancé Ari, and Andrew and Nicole Flowers who have one child, Luna Lucille Flowers. She is also survived by her two younger brothers, Leroy and Joyce Brown, and Glen and Claudine Brown along with many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life service will be June 10th, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home. The visitation will be at 1:00 PM and funeral starts at 2:00 PM. Family requests that all flowers and notes to be sent to West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Road Marietta, Georgia 30064.
