Loyd P. Worley

Mr. Loyd P. Worley, Jr., 84, of Dallas, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 20, 2011, in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Frank Bernat and Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville. Born in Cartersville, Mr. Worley moved to Dallas 2 years ago from Cobb County. He was retired linesman for General Motors in Doraville and was also a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Smyrna. Mr. Worley was also a Veteran of the United States Army. Loyd was a devoted husband and loving father of 4 daughters. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Worley Jones; parents, Ethel and Loyd P. Worley, Sr. and 10 siblings. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nellie Worley; daughters, Melba (Richard) Lyle of Forsyth, GA, Kathy (Chuck) Adams of Dallas and Sophia (Keith) Jones of Powder Springs; step-mother, Catherine Worley; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; grandchildren, Robyn, Steffani, Michele, Brian, Rikki, Morgan and Ross and great-grandchildren, Mallory, Reagan and Walker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1pm-3pm and 5pm-8pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
