Louise Chumley

Louise A. Chumley, age 97, of Marietta, Georgia formerly of Big Canoe, GA passed away March 28, 2020. Private Funeral Service will be held at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Mrs. Chumley was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Rachel G. Allen.

Louise was a native of Frenchman's Bayou, AR residing in Memphis, TN until 1968. Moving to Charleston, SC where she was employed with the US Government Food and Drug administration as an inspector. After retiring she moved to Big Canoe, GA for 30 years where she was a member of Big Canoe ladies society, Big Canoe cooking classes and Big Canoe book club. Then moving to Marietta, GA in 2016. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a Gourmet cook, attended well known cooking classes in Atlanta. Traveled to China and France. Very strong horticulture interests and skills. Great talent in home decorating and a collector of period pieces of furniture. A loving mom and incredible grandmother.

Survivors include: husband of 74 years: James Robert Chumley, Jr. of Marietta, GA; two sons: James (Donna) Chumley of Acworth, GA and Robert (Josie) Chumley of Cumming, GA; four grandchildren: Rachel, Austin, Evan and Frank; three great-grandchildren: Hudson, Grant and Morgan.
