March 16, 1926 — February 18, 2015

Louise Sanders Christian, age 88, of Marietta, GA passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Tatum Christian, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Jill Christian Pearson of Dawsonville, GA, and son Eric (Sabrina) Christian of Kennesaw, GA. She has five grandchildren, Madeleine, Mary Anna and Edward Pearson and Wesley and Lauren Christian. She was the daughter of Julius Lonnie Sanders and Flora Heath Sanders of Felton, GA. Surviving siblings include sister, Dot Carlile and brother-in-law, Clinton Carlile of Marietta, GA; brother, Doyce Sanders of the Yorkville Community. She is also preceded in death by two siblings, Odoyle and Othelia Sanders.

She was a retired teacher of the Dekalb County School System, earning her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Oglethorpe University in 1954. She was commonly referred to as “Teacher” at A.G. Rhodes Nursing Home, where she resided until her death.

Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ron Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Macland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1pm until 3pm at the funeral home.
