Lorraine King

Lorraine  King, age 71, of Marietta, Georgia passed away February 9, 2024. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens Cemetery  in Powder Springs, Georgia. She struggled with many health problems over the past 40 years. Her family finds comfort in knowing she’s no longer struggling or in pain. And now her body and soul are at peace. She is preceded in death by her husband Lee Allan King, Parents Joan Becker Berryman and William R Phillips, and her sister Joanne Phillips Cooper. 

Lori was born in Scranton, PA on December 9, 1952. She grew up in Miami, FL where she learned to play many woodwind instruments before graduating from Southwest Miami Senior High School. She met her late husband in 1975 in Jacksonville, FL. In 1980 they moved to Antigo and then to Menesha, WI until 1986 when they settled in Marietta, GA. She found that she loved travel so much that she started King’s Cruise Agency. This brought her great joy for many years. 

She is survived by her sister Barbara (Michael) Butler, Her children, Patricia (Robert) Logston, Jacob (Amber) King and LeeAnn King. Her stepsons Alan, Clarence & Charles King. Her 10 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do an act of kindness. Smile at a stranger, hold open a door, hug your children, call your loved ones, make amends and love without conditions. 

Though this life is over, we will mourn the loss and grow from the lessons we have learned.  For if we do not make a change, we are destined to repeat the same mistakes and our time on earth will have been wasted.
