Lori Leann Brooks passed away unexpectedly February 19, 2023. She was 53 years old.
Born August 16, 1969 at Kennestone hospital in Marietta, GA, Lori was the daughter of Benny C. Brooks (deceased) and Barbara Annette (Leatherwood) Brooks.
Lori graduated from Sprayberry High School with the class of 1987. She continued her education at Kennesaw State University and attained a bachelor’s degree in communications. Lori worked with many successful companies including WSB, IBM, Equifax, Norfolk Southern, Cox, and Lending Point. Serving most often as a project manager, she held many certifications and enjoyed working with her teams. Lori called many places home over the years, including great cities such as Alpharetta, Savannah and Powder Springs in Georgia, and Superior, Colorado.
A strong faith in the Lord led Lori’s passions. She served in her church in the areas of hospitality and discipleship. In the community, Lori regularly donated her time and resources to help those in need. She was a trusted friend, devoted daughter, supportive sister, and doting aunt. She was also an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
In addition to her mother, Lori is survived by her sister, Ashley (Brooks) Payne and her husband, Billy Payne; two nephews, Brooks and Andrea (Mora) Payne, and Bryce Payne; and a niece, Alyssa Payne.
A celebration of Lori’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 26 at Sanctuary Church, 700 Mars Hill Road, Kennesaw, GA. Those that would like to remember Lori in a special way may make gifts to the Spondylitis Association of America.
