Our beloved mother and grandmother, Linda Hansard Walker, peacefully passed away on the morning of Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the age of 80. Linda's devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her health struggles and ultimately gave her peace.
She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who was always there when we needed her, offering faith, support, wisdom, and love in abundance. Linda was a native of Atlanta and was a cherished member of Powder Springs, Georgia community for 57 years leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and strength. Linda worked for the Cobb County Board of Education at Compton Elementary School touching the lives of every student who passed through the library and in her computer classes. After retiring from education, she worked with her son-in-law, Chris Huff, in his family business, EWS.
Linda was a devoted Christian; member of Clarkdale United Methodist Church, Powder Springs Baptist Church, McEachern United Methodist Church, as well as a founding member of Macland Community Church. She was a member of the Searchlights Sunday School Class, the Besse McElreath Circle, UMW, and attended and lead Bible Studies.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Larry Walker. Linda is survived by her three children: Marc Walker (Denise), Scott Walker (Carol), and Noelle Walker Huff (Chris); her seven grandchildren: Zach Walker (Shelby), Abbey Walker (Jordan Handler), Madisyn Walker DeBoer (Nathan), Kinsey Huff Bilardello (Devin), Sophie Huff McGill (Seth), Emma Grace Walker (Jack Martin), and Malley Huff; her two great grandchildren (soon to be four): Haddon Walker and Baby Walker (November), Dawson DeBoer, and Kollins Bilardello (September); her brother, Phillip Hansard (Annette); and her sister-in-law, Norma Walker Moore; along with countless family and friends who felt her warmth and generosity.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm.
