Lillian was born April 12, 1939 in San Diego, CA of parents Henry and Lois Cornelius. She graduated from Lincoln High School, San Diego and went to work as a ticket agent for Pacific Southwest Airlines at San Diego Airport. In December 1957 she married Robert Price and bore three children: Anita (May 1960- died May 1967), Howard (Nov 1961) and Tanya (Oct 1963). She later worked in the Art Department of McDonnell Douglas until the family moved to North Carolina in 1976 and she became a realtor. In 1981 she moved to Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island in Washington state with new husband, Bruce Brown. Continuing in real estate, Lillian earned her GRI certificate to go along with her realtor license; and was a member of the Million Dollar Club 14 years in a row, the only realtor in Island County to accomplish that feat at that time. Following a failed marriage, Lillian was reunited with her childhood sweetheart, Richard Day, who was born one day earlier than her. In December 1998 they married, and Lillian moved to Smyrna, and later to Marietta, GA. In 2010, she and Richard retired and moved to Belize where they enjoyed the tropical weather of Central America until Richard’s death in 2013. Lillian returned to the U. S. a few years later, and in 2017 through mutual friends met and loved John Hollner, III of Powder Springs, GA, her partner, and companion for over six years until her passing.
Lillian was a good mom, a smart businesswoman, a dear friend to many; and now she is free of the struggles with health issues of the last couple of years. She won the battle and we who believe in Jesus will see her again and know her. Lillian was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Anita Price, husbands Robert Price and Richard Day and is survived by her brother Henry (Barbara) Cornelius, Jr., daughter Tanya (Lyle) Broughman, son Howard Price, companion John Hollner and several nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, Lillian was cremated, and her ashes will be scattered along the shore of Whidbey Island, WA in the spring. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 10th, 2024, 2 o’clock pm at Austell Presbyterian Church, 5895 Love Street, Austell, GA. Anyone wishing to do so, may make contributions in Lillian’s name to: Austell Presbyterian Church at the above address.
