Lillian Yvonne Darnell, 69, of Powder Springs passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. A native of Wilson County, Tennessee, Mrs. Darnell was retired from Fieldwork Atlanta as a Supervisor. She was a member of the Rural Beauty Garden Club of Dallas, GA and the Red Hat Society. Although Yvonne left Tennessee over 40 years ago, she always rooted for the Big Orange. She was a Georgia Master Gardener and had a passion for planting flowers. She loved her wild birds. She had numerous bird feeders around the yard and in front of the windows where she could watch them daily. "Maw Maw" thought the world of her "favorite grandson" and her "favorite granddaughter". She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lillian Ward. Mrs. Darnell is survived by her husband, Phillip Darnell of Powder Springs; children, Karen Buckner and her spouse, James Buckner of Dallas, GA and Ronnie Darnell of Douglasville, GA.; siblings, Linda Qualls, Sharon Murphy, Sam Stacey, Deadon Stacey and David Ward, all of Wilson County, TN; grandchildren, Kenedy Boswell of Rockmart, GA and Cullen Boswell of Phoenix, AZ.
