Lewis Edwin Bookhultz

Lewis Edwin Bookhultz, age 83, of Marietta, Georgia passed away November 19, 2022. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, December 5, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Interment will be held 1:00 pm on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and May Bookhultz and brother, Jack Bookhultz.

Major Lewis E. Bookhultz served in the US Army for 15 years active duty and 23 years in the Army Reserves for a total of 38 years of service. After retiring from the military, he worked for Georgia Power in telecommunications for 12 years. He then retired to Big Canoe in Jasper, Georgia and enjoyed several years of peaceful living in the mountains. Most recently, he moved to Marietta, Georgia to be closer to family.

He is survived by his wife: Joy Bookhultz; sister: Judy Roberts; daughter: Laura Brown; son: Brian Bookhultz; step-daughters: Kathy Russ and Beth Petersen; six grandchildren: Michelle Welch, Ruel Brown, Levi Brown, Mallory Payne, Katie Petersen and Matthew Petersen; two great-grandchildren: Holly Marie Ember Welch and Helix Sky Eggert.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
