Leland Bruce Faugno, age 72, of Dallas, Georgia passed away August 12, 2023. Leland has lived in Paulding County, GA for 5 years since moving from California where he spent 10 years in Palm Desert and 30 years in Escondido. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on January 1st, 1951, and lived in Springfield until 1959. While he was stationed at Grand Forks Airforce Base in ND, he met Diana Hafner and they married June 9, 1973.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Paul and Phyllis Faugno, 1992, and his brothers Anthony Faugno, 1982, and Phillip Faugno, 1999. Survivors include his loving wife, Diana, and their children Christopher (Rebecca) Faugno, of Dallas, GA, and Brenda (Charles) Hammonds, of Dallas, GA, His sisters Donna Houser (twin sister), of Escondido, CA, and Pamela Jures, of Escondido, CA, grandchildren, Mikayla Hammonds, Tristin Hammonds, Silas Hammonds, Landyn Faugno, Kaya Faugno, and Brooklyn Faugno.
Leland was a sergeant in the United States Air Force for four years, a volunteer at USO in Palm Springs, CA, spent seven years as a Scout Leader for the Boys Scouts of America, and a volunteer at St. Mary's Church CCD Program. He spent 25 years working and driving for Pepsi, Co. Leland was an active member of The American Legion in Escondido California since 1988 with his best friend Fred Aguilar. Leland and Fred prepared many breakfasts and dinners for the veterans at The American Legion and donated a lot of their time to repairs and handyman services to members of The American Legion post 149.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Acworth with Father Mike Revak officiating. The family welcomes all loved ones to a reception following the Mass @ 12 PM at 145 Meadow Branch Lane, Dallas, GA 30157.
