Lela Irene Hale, 93, of Powder Springs, formerly of Lost Mountain and Mableton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022, after several years of declining health. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, GA with Rev. Keith Collins, Senior Pastor, Floyd Road Baptist Church and Dr. Nelson L. Price Pastor Emeritus, Roswell Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.
Mrs. Hale was born in Gilmer County Georgia on March 17, 1928. Mrs. Hale retired from the Cobb County School System, having worked in the food service areas of several schools throughout the county during her career. She was a long time member of Floyd Road Baptist Church, Austell, GA. She loved her church family and enjoyed taking trips and guided bus tours with her friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Light and son-in-law, Philip Light of Winchester, VA; Glenda Daniell and son-in-law, Joe Daniell of Blairsville, GA. Three grandchildren, Whitney Light, Winchester, VA, Kellie Meadows, Penfield, NY and Alex Daniell, Blairsville, GA; six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hale is pre-deceased by her husband, James Hale and grandson, Stephen Patrick Light.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.
