Lee R. Green, age 92, of Marietta, passed away December 31, 2014. Mr. Green was born in Lathemtown, GA to Roy and Gertrude (White) Green. After serving in the Army Air Corps in WWII and beginning work at the Murray Co., he settled in Marietta, GA. Mr. Green was a charter member of St. Philip United Methodist Church, where he was active in Methodist Men and "Grumpy Old Men." For the past several years, he was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He was Division Manager at Daniel Radiator, an avid golfer at Dogwood Golf and Country Club, and a traveler who drove on several cross-country road trips.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Jeanne (Mull) Green, sister Margie Frey and brothers Stanley Green and Robert Green. He is survived by his daughter Margaret and son-in-law John McKune of Colorado, sister Frankie Wilson and brother Tom Green of Marietta, and brother Ralph Green of Hoover, AL, along with numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition he has enjoyed being adopted by neighbors Ken and Lin Beeler for their children and grandchildren, all of whom refer to him affectionately as "Pappy."

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 3, 2015 at Bethany UMC in Smyrna with Rev. Dr. Susan Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Green will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan 2nd, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Marietta.
