Larry W. Flowers, age 75, passed away on May 19, 2024 at home in Powder Springs, GA surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his adoring wife Frances (Pollmann) Flowers, parents Wayne and Claytie, and brother Danny.
He is survived by his three children, Jessica (Flowers) Kongoda and husband Anderson; David Flowers and wife Sarah (Ellingsworth); Rebecca (Flowers) Walburn and husband John; six grandchildren; sisters, Cindy Hastings and husband Dean, Jean Flowers; brother Jim Flowers and wife Julie; two sisters-in-law, Rita (Pollmann) Cox and husband Jim and Dolores “Tootsie” (Pollmann) Weiss and husband Richard; a brother-in-law, Mike Pollmann; and many nieces and nephews.
Larry served in the U.S. Army retiring with the rank of Major. He was a dedicated Church of Christ member attending at Macland Road, South Cobb, Central, and then Villa Rica Churches of Christ. He served as Deacon, teacher, service coordinator, and helped with communion and prayers. In his spare time he enjoyed golf, bowling, pool, comic strip books, card games and puzzles. He was recognized as Senior Master by the American Contract Bridge League before finishing college. At the time of his passing, he was working on a 24,000 piece puzzle that his children and grandchildren have continued to work on.
