Kevin Douglas Monstrola, age 41, of Dallas, Georgia passed away August 19, 2020. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, GA.
Kevin was born to parents Doug and Debbie Monstrola on July 26, 1979 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He grew up in Brighton, Michigan, graduated from Brighton High School, and went on to attend Albion College where he earned a degree in Computer Science.
Throughout high school and college and for many years after, Kevin was an avid runner, completing 9 marathons and countless other races. He had a goal of completing #10 with his children at the finish line. Later, he also became an enthusiastic traveler. Kevin's work as a project manager in the construction industry eventually brought him to Georgia where he met his wife of 12 years, Marie (Missy) Monstrola. Kevin and Missy were married in May of 2008. They spent many years traveling and adventuring together before welcoming their son Mason Ramsey in 2015 and daughter Emersyn Layne in 2018. Kevin was so excited to be a daddy and for these two precious babies to join him and Missy on a lifetime of adventures. He loved planning the adventures they could all have together and documented each one with hundreds of pictures. He had a very kind heart, a playful spirit, and a sense of humor like no other. He was a wonderful man who was so loved, is deeply missed, and will always be cherished.
In addition to Missy, Mason, and Emersyn, Kevin is survived by his father and mother, Doug and Debbie Monstrola; his sister and brother, Keri and Jason Monstrola; and countless extended family members. All held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory (2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA 30064). The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives.
For the safety of all, the family requests that guests please wear a mask while visiting.
People wishing to honor Kevin can support his strong desire and commitment to care for his family by making a college fund donation to his two precious babies, Mason and Emersyn, in lieu of sending flowers.
