Kenneth Edward Stone

Chaplain Colonel Kenneth Edward Stone (Retired), age 65, of Acworth, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Interment will follow at 2:30pm at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

A native of Northeastern, Ohio, Chap. Stone was a graduate of Madison High School and received a B.A. from Bob Jones University and his M.Div. from Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary. Chap. Stone planted and pastored City View Church in downtown Grand Rapids, MI before going active duty as a USAF chaplain serving at Altus AFB, OK and Randolph AFB, TX. Other assignments included the USAF Central Commands in Qatar and Florida, Arlington National Cemetery, and Shaw AFB, SC. He retired in 2016 with over thirty years of reserve and active duty service.

Chap. Stone lived most recently in Bradenton, Florida and Douglasville, GA before moving to Acworth, GA 5 years ago. He was a financial planner through Covenant Wealth Management. Woodworking and boating were two of his favorite hobbies..

Survivors include: wife of 41 years, Kristy Stone; Daughter, Lauren (Stephen) Johnson, Acworth, GA; Sister, Beverly Stone, Maryland; 2 Grandchildren, Sarah Stone and Draven Johnson, Acworth, GA.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
