Kenneth Eugene Bearden, age 79, of Powder Springs passed away January 19, 2023. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
Kenneth was a tall strong man with a big tender heart. He has been referred to as a gentle giant by his grandkids whom he loved with all his heart. While he was a tender hearted man he had your back and was no one to mess with. There wasn't much he wouldn't do for his family even if it was a struggle for him personally. He worked hard to provide for his family retiring from General Motors.
Kenneth was preceded in passing by the love of his life, Virginia Ann Bearden or as most called her either Nana or Poodle. His world centered around her. He always thought of her constantly bringing her home flea market cookbooks or tea pots he found to add to her collection. It might even be a simple as a run to Martins or the store to get her breakfast or some sweets but it was always for her. Losing her was the hardest thing for him and in his last days stated he was going to be with his Nana Poo.
PawPaw's favorite past times were hunting, fishing and eating all of which he passed onto his family. Those family times together is what will live on because there was always a story to be told. Some of the best times were just being together and listening to him tell of his past. The memories he made with his family included his garden, playing in the floor with the kids, attending their ball games with a front row seat, teaching all to fish and hunt, grading homework and if not acceptable sitting there with them until they got it right, sneaking away to the BBQ restaurant with them after school. If they weren't around he always asked how each one was doing and enjoyed hearing what they had going on. He was so proud of them all and would brag to anyone who would listen. We will forever remember him and feel his love.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Barry Keith Bearden, and Kevin E. Bearden with his wife Cindy Bearden; his ex- daughter in law Rhonda Eidson Weygandt; 4 Grand children, Danielle Lee Bearden and her husband Tommy Lee, Amanda Bearden Harvey and her husband Earl Harvey, Kendall Bearden and Kassidy Bearden; 4 great-grand children, Elliot Harvey, Samuel Lee, Cameron Harvey and Hannah Lee.
He was born to Ethel Durden Bearden and J.C. Bearden in Austell. He was 1 of 5 children including Claude Green, Carol Bearden Keaton,
James Bearden and Ronnie Bearden.
