Kathleen A Kennedy

Kathleen A. Buffington Kennedy, age 74, of Mableton, Georgia passed away July 30, 2021. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Lutheran Church of the Nativity in Austell, GA with Pastor Dena Lane officiating. Interment will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Kathie is preceded in death by her parents Harold K. and Charlotte M Buffington, brother Harold K Buffington, Jr. and sister Linda Buffington Powe.

Kathie was a native of Beaver Falls, PA and has spent the last several years in Mableton, GA. At the age of 19, Kathie joined the United States Air Force, where she started her career as a nurse. Though her time was short, she was proud to serve. Kathie spent the majority of her career as a home health nurse before retirement. She was a member of the American Legion Post 160 and a member of Lutheran Church of the Nativity in Austell, GA where she was a member of the hand bell choir.

Survivors include: husband of 29 years: Edmund F. Kennedy; four daughters: Teresa (Tim) Shannon, Carol Ireton, Heather Jones and Shannan (Jim) Kellam; 11 grandchildren: Sean (Sarah), Chelsea (Alex), Andrew, Jordan, Nicole, Melody, Arianne, Rebecca, Seth, Samantha and Kendra; 2 great-grandchildren: Carson and Guinevere.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.
