Katherine Ann Rogers

Katherine (Katy) Rogers (née Hoch), 58, of Acworth, Georgia died September 25, 2021. She was born in 1963 in Richmond, Indiana to Susy and Mike Hoch. Katy grew up in Lake Forest, IL with her three siblings and graduated from Illinois State University. She married the love of her life, James Rogers, in 1986. An educator for more than 30 years, Katy was a tireless advocate for students with learning differences and touched countless young lives. She recently attained her Masters degree in Education from Gordon College and was Assistant Head Lower School at Mount Paran Christian School. Her greatest joy in life was raising her two sons and adoring her precious grandson. As a faithful servant of her Lord, Katy will be remembered for her kind spirit, generous heart and ability to make everyone she met feel special. She was a beautiful person both inside and out. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, James Rogers, her children, Keenan (Megan Crymes) Rogers and Sam Rogers, her grandson, Eoin Rogers, her mother Sue Ann Hoch, her siblings, Patrick Hoch, John (Eileen) Hoch and Nancy (Tim) Bielinski, a niece and several nephews, cousins and countless friends and students who loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Hoch in 2020. A Celebration of Katy's life will be held at the Murray Art Center at Mount Paran School on Sunday Oct. 10th at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that, to continue Katy's impactful work with students , gifts be made directly to: Mount Paren Christian school (indicate "Katy Rogers Scholarship Fund for Directed Studies") 1275 Stanley Road Kennesaw, GA 20152.
