Julius C. Jones, Jr., age 92, of Chamblee, GA passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017. Memorial Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Pastor John Freeland officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Marietta. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in Marietta, Mr. Jones lived in Chamblee for the last 60 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served with the Seabees 105th Construction Battalion in the Pacific Campaign during WWII. He was a graduate of Georgia State College, and went on to work as an Accountant for the Veterans Administration and for the Life Insurance Company of Georgia. Mr. Jones also enjoyed leading the Clogging Squares Group, singing in the Skyland United Methodist Church Quartet, and playing golf, even making a hole-in-one. He was preceded in death by a son, Allan Jones, and a granddaughter, Brooke Register.
