Julia G. Elliott, age 67, of Powder Springs passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 6 at 11 am at the First Baptist Church Powder Springs with Rev. Mike Woods officiating. Mrs. Elliott will lie in state at the church from 10 am until the service. Interment Services will be at 2:30 pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery in College Park.
Mrs. Elliott is survived by her husband, Mr. Wayne Elliott of Powder Springs; parents: Walker and Nita Elster of Marietta; 3 children: Christopher Elliott of Marietta, Scott Elliott of Marietta and Todd (Jessa Mae) Elliott of Marietta; brother, Randy (Cheryl) Elster of Acworth and niece, Jenni Elster.
A native of Atlanta, Mrs. Elliott was raised in East Point and had lived in the Cobb County area for many years. She was a drill team member and was part of the first graduating class of Lakeshore High School in College Park. She was a former long-time member of the Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in East Point. She was currently a member of the First Baptist Church Powder Springs where she served as a Puppet Ministry leader and sang in the church choir. She sang in both the Women’s and mixed ensemble. She established the Prayer Shawl Ministry at First Baptist Powder Springs. She crocheted scores of booties for the Cobb Pregnancy Crisis Center and was a member of the Georgia Festival Chorus. Mrs. Elliott was a retired administrative assistant for the major case division and previously served as an ID Tech at the Fulton County Police Department.
