Joy Loudermilk, age 55, of Marietta, GA passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, May 22nd at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Pastor John Schubert officiating. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Joy grew up in West Palm Beach, FL before moving to Marietta, GA, where she lived for most of her life. She worked as the Head 1 Custodian for the Cobb County School System for 24 years, most recently for Vaughn Elementary School.
A beautiful life is a life well lived. Joy lived well in every season of her life. She lived beautifully. She loved fiercely. She is the most beautiful soul. Anyone who knew her well could see the light she brought ---a light that shone in her eyes, in her smile, and in her heart; a light that was so bright nothing could put it out. Joy could walk into a room and light it up--she often did. Joy could look at you and brighten your day, lighten your burden, and make you feel loved--all that in one look! Her laughter brought happiness to numerous people. Her husband, Dave, was blessed to be with her. As he often stated how her laugh was heaven sent. His glorious Joy, sent to him from heaven above.

Joy made everyone she came in contact with feel her warm and comforting light. She illuminated us and changed us all for the better. This world will never be the same without her and Heaven is so lucky to get to keep her.
Survivors include her Husband, David Loudermilk; Mother, Freddie Slunt and husband Hank, Vero Beach, FL; Father, Bill Holl, West Palm Beach, FL; Siblings, Billy Holl, Loxatchee, FL, Bonnie Rawlins, West Palm Beach, FL, and Harold Fesler, Loxatchee, FL; and several Nieces and Nephews.
